Definition profiles

A profile is a named settings bucket on a Definition — different instruments, parameters, or collect ranges without duplicating the whole script.

Switch profile → switch which datasets and studies you are looking at for that Definition.

What profiles hold

Typical per-profile settings:

• Default instrument and timeframe

• Parameter values exposed by the script

• Linked datasets and study runs for that configuration

The core Definition logic stays shared. Profiles vary how it is applied.

Select a profile

1. Open Research → Definitions

2. Open your definition

3. Use the Profile dropdown on the detail page or in Collect / Study dialogs

Charts, datasets, and study lists update to match the active profile.

Create a profile

1. Open the definition detail

2. Open Profiles or the profile manager

3. Add profile — name it — for example ES-5m or NQ-London

4. Set parameters and defaults

5. Save

Collect separately per profile when you need both ES and NQ history on the same logic.

What good looks like

One ORB Definition, two profiles (ES / NQ), each with its own collected dataset and study — no copy-paste definitions.

Important distinctions

Definition profile = research settings bucket on one Definition.

Broker profile / account — unrelated; lives under Trading → Accounts.

Chartbook — Terminal layout persistence — not a Definition profile.
