Places
Terminal
Where you chart and trade. Trading → Terminal. Choose Real-time for live markets, or Replay for a practice session.
Dashboard
Your home base: goals, accounts, activity, playbooks, recent sessions. Navigate → Dashboard. See Dashboard.
Libraries
Sidebar areas outside the Terminal — Accounts, Backtest, Playbooks, Trades, Definitions, Indicators, Conductor.
Trade and practice
MetaTrader (MT4 / MT5)
Chartnaut’s live broker connection today. Connect under Trading → Accounts, then trade in Terminal Real-time. Fills land in Trades. More broker platforms are coming soon.
Broker account
A linked trading account — MetaTrader, Chartnaut Demo, and other platforms as they ship. Managed under Accounts. Uses Broker Capacity.
Broker Capacity
Your plan’s monthly pool for keeping broker accounts connected. Demo is free. See Settings → Subscription.
Demo account
Live markets with virtual money. Trade from Terminal Real-time. Demo is not a Backtest.
Real-time
Terminal mode for live charts and orders through MetaTrader or Demo.
Replay
Terminal mode for practicing on a Backtest or playbook session as historical data advances.
Interactive position replay
From a trade in Trades: reopen chart context around that fill. Different from Terminal session Replay.
Session
One practice run on past market data you can open in Replay. Created from New Session, Backtest, or a Playbook. Not a broker account, and not a login session.
Backtest
A session that simulates historical markets with costs. Trading → Backtest.
Playbook
A named strategy container — sessions and trades for one idea. Trading → Playbooks.
Collecting Data (playbook)
Practice trades taken for a playbook so Chartnaut can build history for that strategy. Different from research Collect under Definitions.
Order / position / fill
Standard trading terms in the Terminal. Closed positions (and many open ones) appear in Trades.
Journal
Trades
Your journal of recorded positions — live, demo, and practice. Includes notes, tags, and chart thumbnails. Research → Trades.
Trade note / template
Notes on a trade. Templates keep journaling consistent.
Tags & custom fields
Extra structure on trades for filtering and review. Custom fields often appear under Properties.
Pinned collection
A saved list of trades from search. This is a trade list — not a study result on a chart.
Historical Intelligence
Playbook features that use your trade history to surface patterns (including Historical Likelihoods and Context Intelligence). Needs enough quality history per instrument — roughly ~100 trades is a practical training bar. Plan limits apply.
AI credits
Pay-as-you-go balance for agents. Separate from Broker Capacity. Top up as you use agents.
Research
Indicator
A series or overlay on charts — built-in or scripted. Research → Indicators.
Definition
Logic that marks when a setup appears in the market. Research → Definitions.
Collect (research)
Run a definition over history to store event datasets for studies.
Dataset
Stored events from Collect — material Studies measure.
Study
A question over definition events. Results can be inspected and pinned to a chart.
In-terminal pin
A study insight drawn on a Terminal chart — research while you trade.
Conductor
Agent entry point for building indicators and related research with chat. Research → Conductor. Uses AI credits.
Account and plans
Starter / Pro / Ultra
Public plan names. They differ in Broker Capacity, data depth, and research limits.
Subscription
Settings for your plan, AI usage, and billing.
Trial
Time-limited access. Dashboard goals may reference current trial offers — read the live goal text.
Words that sound alike

Replay (Terminal) = practice on a session. Interactive position replay = reopen one trade’s chart from Trades.
In-terminal pin = research on a chart. Pinned collection = a saved list of trades.
